Product Description

Environmentally Friendly Biodegradable Polymer Materials Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA)

Polyvinyl alcohol, also called PVA. PVA is a basic chemical material with great development potential. It has good spinnability, film-forming properties, and cohesiveness. It has a wide range of applications in the fields of chemicals, textiles, plastics, papermaking, tanning, bonding, and construction. It has the characteristics of being easily degradable and pollution-free and more environmentally friendly, and the industrial development space is broad.

Our company's PVA has the potential of large output, complete variety and stable quality. We can produce more than 30 types of PVA series such as PVA17-99, PVA26-99, PVA04-99, PVA05-99, PVA17-88, PVA05-88, etc.

1. Physical properties:

PVA appearance is white flake, granular or powder solid (low alkali alcoholysis process) or white flocculent solid (high alkali alcoholysis process). Specific gravity: 1.23-1.31g/cm3, filling specific gravity of flake PVA: 0.42-0.52g/cm3, filling specific gravity of flocculent PVA: 0.20-0.27g/cm3.

2. Chemical properties:

The structural formula of PVA is -[CH2CH(OH)]n-, where n represents the average degree of polymerization. The basic properties of PVA are determined by its average degree of polymerization and alcoholysis, but there are more than 10 irregularities in the PVA molecule The structure has a great influence on its performance.

(1) Water solubility: PVA molecules are easily soluble in water because they contain a large amount of hydroxyl groups. Its solubility increases with the increase of water temperature, only swells in cold water (low alcoholysis products can slowly dissolve in water at room temperature), and can be completely dissolved in hot water, and its aqueous solution has good film-forming and cohesive properties .

(2) Thermal stability: This series of products softens when heated, and does not change significantly below 40°C. It will gradually color when heated above 160°C for a long time, and will decompose above 220°C to produce water, acetic acid, acetaldehyde and crotonaldehyde.

(3) Chemical resistance: This series of products is hardly affected by weak acids, weak bases or organic solvents, and has high oil resistance.

(4) Storage stability: This series of products have good stability and will not be moldy, degenerate, or moisture-absorbing when stored for a long time in a natural dry state.

(5) PVA is a kind of high molecular polymer with secondary hydroxyl group. The secondary hydroxyl in the PVA molecular formula has high activity and can carry out typical chemical reactions similar to low-molecular alcohols, such as esterification, etherification, acetalization, etc., and also react with many inorganic and organic compounds.

3. Storage and transportation conditions and market applications

(1) Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is made from vinyl acetate through polymerization and alcoholysis. It is a white, stable, and harmless water-soluble polymer that can quickly dissolve in water to form a stable colloid. It is a good solvent.

(2) The aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol resin (PVA) has good film-forming and emulsifying properties. The formed film has different adhesive strength, solvent resistance, abrasion resistance, tensile strength and oxygen resistance. Polyvinyl alcohol resin (PVA) has both hydrophilic and hydrophobic functional groups, so it is a substance with interfacial activity, so it can be used as a protective colloid for polymer emulsification and suspension polymerization.

(3) Polyvinyl alcohol resin (PVA) is mainly used in the production of synthetic fibers, plastics, adhesives, coatings, new building materials and other products, and is widely used in chemical, textile, printing and papermaking, leather industry, construction and other industries and fields .
